Fundraising and grant writing.
Winning grants is a passion for me. When I finished my social work degree and first started out, I thought I’d spend my career working one-on-one in a therapeutic capacity with clients. But when I gave nonprofit administration a try a few years later, I realized it was the perfect fit. I got my feet wet by writing a few small grants and I was hooked. I had minored in English in undergrad because of my love of writing. Turned out, this speciality area in nonprofits gave me a chance to blend everything I loved together. Still mission driven and values aligned, but playing to my core strengths—big picture thinking, strategy and storytelling. I’ve written grants for organizations big and small and won millions throughout my career. Along the way, I’ve also been involved with all kinds of other fundraising work from major event planning to capital campaigns and much more. If we need to raise funds for a good cause, I have the experience to find the savviest way to go about it and maximize our results with minimal effort.
