Through years on the nonprofit front lines, I have developed a practical, comprehensive understanding of all things communications. From print to digital, I’ve done it all—and always with a roll-up-the-sleeves can-do attitude when resources are tight and timelines short. I’ve developed social media strategy for several organizations, keeping up on emerging trends and honing the right voice for each platform. I’ve redesigned websites, launched e-newsletters and impact reports, enhanced email marketing, won millions in grant funding, executed major campaigns and penned executive communications, speeches and scripts. Through all of it, I’ve sought to foreground the stories of the people that make the work real.

2023 – Present
Led unit efforts to align with university brand, content standards and communications best practices including federal digital accessibility standards.
Instituted monthly social media team meetings to review analytics and strategize for coming content period. Advocated for and modeled use of social media best practices around content length, type and trends.
Helped to establish a new LinkedIn account and grew followers to 2,500 in first year.
Took initiative to deepen collaboration with enterprise level Ohio State social media team to co-develop content with broader reach and impact.
Authored dozens of stories about students, faculty, alumni and more annually, driving thousands of added hits to the unit website.

Wrote proposals and reports to support a three-million dollar annual portfolio.
Served as lead writer for varied public communications including marketing pieces, newsletters, appeals, web and email copy, speeches, sponsorship packages, signage and event materials.
Web and print writing for the 2023 spring individual gift campaign boosted giving by 74% over prior year.
